My partner is always doing things to benefit the family like getting another job so we can get a mortgage and doing the garden so the children can play in it etc. But he is also quite aggressive, when he is sober he will regularly belittle, mock me in front of family, he criticises me often, he makes me feel small and useless. He tells me I talk rubbish. When he's drunk this gets worse, he swears at me calls me names tells me I'm nothing. He pushes me around and recently pushed, hit and grabbed my throat whilst I tried to feed our 5 month old baby. I turned the music down cos it was distressing my son, he shouted in my face continuously so I knocked his drink out of his hand, I admit I shouldn't have knocked it but I was fed up of being shouted at because of alcohol, that's when he flipped and started knocking me about. Am I in an abusive relationship or do I deserve this, it's not the first time he has been aggressive but this is the worst. He always says sorry and tries being nice for a few days afterwards.
