I live in town. I rent and have been at my house for almost 2 years. My neighbor moved into her house about a year ago and is METICULOUS about her yard. She hires a lawn company to come each week and has installed underground sprinklers… She has TONS of trinkets and crap decorations EVERYWHERE on her porch and yard. There is hardly any lawn at all… Only small patches in the front and a strip along the side, but she keeps it perfectly maintained at all times. She is older and lives alone and has no pets. She seems to have a lot of time on her hands. There is a sidewalk on my side of the property that runs between our houses and separates her lawn from mine… I also have some rose bushes growing alongside my house on my side of the sidewalk. She left me a letter saying if i dont keep my side of the lawn cut and watered at all times, she is going to file a complaint with the city over "the reasonable effort to maintain adjoining property whereas it may impact value of adjacent owner's property"… She says she is trying to get a loan adjustment on her mortgage and our hideous yard is lowering the value of her property. What's funny is i do water the lawn/bushes on that side, but dont mow it often… But it does not appear overgrown or full of weeds either. It is a little unkept perhaps, but there are other houses on the block that look MUCH worse. I recently became a single mother and also work full time. Is she full of crap or do i need to appease her & meet her standards?
