I m in the process of getting a home mortgage and I need to get my W-2s really fast to complete closing quickly. I don t have any copies. Unfortunately, I kind of burned some bridges with my previous employers and I know they ll be in no hurry to send me my W-2s. I have my W-2 transcript from the IRS website with all of my information, so here s my question…
Can I just copy that information and fake a W-2 form for my lender? I m not making up my income and everything would check out if my lender decided to verify the information, it just wouldn t be the real W-2 from my old employers.
