Can I call about my husbands 401k?

My husband is currently at basic training in the Army. He quit his previous job and wants the money from his 401k for bills this first month he is away. We have a car payment and mortgage plus two amazing children, so the money would be helpful. I put in for the money to be direct deposited into our bank about twelve days ago. I don't understand what could be taking so long. It already did a ACH seven days ago. I was curious to know if I could call and ask what is going on? It's my husband's account only though. I don't need any more problems than need be. I need the money soon for bills and doesn't seem like it's doing anything. Thank you in advance!
