Possible to get a mortgage with this income?

Have been looking into saving up for a deposit to get a mortgage, not at the stage for bank visits yet though. Wondering if you could all share your experiences with the mortgage process? I earn £14,000pa before tax, partner earns £12,000pa as basic plus an extra £5,000 commission pa will this be taken into consideration?
Looking at properties no more than £180,000 hoping to save £18,000 but fees to also come out of this?
