Are there townhouses with HOAs that do not need to qualify as a condo under FHA requirements?


Are all townhouses that have homeowners' associations considered condos for FHA approval purposes and therefore required to be an FHA approved condo to be financed with an FHA loan? In other words, does the FHA differentiate between condos and townhouses, and if so what would allow a townhouse to qualify for FHA financing without being an FHA approved condo?
