What is more lucrative, bring a realtor or a mortgage broker?

I am currently a real estate agent and feel like I run around wasting my time a lot, With that said I am wondering if becoming a mortgage broker is more lucrative. Or provides a more consistent income. I am also wondering what business you can make more money in if you work equally as hard in each, Any feedback would be great.
