What should we take to our mortgage meeting tomorrow?
My husband and I have a meeting with my bank tomorrow to discuss the possibility of getting a mortgage. We have ã20,000 in savings and I make decent money as a band 6 nurse. My husband is self-employed though and because of this, we're expecting them to say they won't give us a mortgage; he's only been making decent money the past year. But what we're really going for is to find out what they want from us so that maybe they would give us a mortgage later on. We both have cars on finance and my husband has a tractor on finance too. Neither of us have any credit card debt; my husband does have a student loan, I don't, but he has never earnt enough to start paying it off so I don't know whats happening with that honestly. My husband has his accounts and will be bringing them to demonstrate how he is now earning and I will take a wageslip. We know our finances well so know exactly what our outgoings etc. Are, can I just bring a list or do we need statements etc? I genuinly think they will say no to a mortgage but I want them to see that we are smart and professional so would just like to know what we need to do to show this, any advice would be greatly appreciated.
