If I won a small lottery, can I pay off a mortgage instantly?

Assuming this was the case, is it possible to pay it all off, as one lump sum? Lets say, 3, 6 or 12 months into the loan? Maybe with a penalty fee or something?

I wouldn't be interested in putting some of it away for the life of the loan, I would simply pay it off.

I don't like owing anyone anything, not matter what, unless my life depended upon it, in other cases, I would go without. It's close to black and white for me.
