Could I only afford a terraced house on £30,000 a year income?

I'm going in the teaching profession and will be on £22,000 at 21 years of age and will be on about £30,000 when I'm about 28, people say that this is a very good wage, but I've also been told that for a mortgage they will lend you 3.5 times your income, which comes to just over £100,000, from the houses I have seen, you can only get a terraced house or a run down semi detached for that price. If this is the case, then how is £30,000 a year a good income?

Can I get home owner's insurance if I do not yet own the home but am paying a mortgage?

if I'm paying a mortgage and have insurance, and a hurricane destroys my house will the insurance company pay my mortgage company the rest of the balance on the mortgage? Do I get back anything I paid into the house (equity)? What happens if I refuse to pay the mortgage company after a storm destroys my home, they can't foreclose on a house that is not there.
Added (1). is it likely I would be sued and expected to pay on a house that is no longer there
Added (2). what is the minimum credit score I need to be approved for a mortgage? Do most mortgage companies use Transition or Equifax? Experian?
Added (3). Transunion
Added (4). I'm planning on moving soon

Mortgage Help! - Natwest

Hello!

I'm going through the process of waiting for a mortgage offer from Natwest.

My timeline is as follows so far:
27/07 - AIP received from Natwest for up to £220,00

05/08 - Viewed Property

07/08 - Offer put in and accepted

14/08 - Mortgage application submitted

15/08 - Solicitors instructed

25/08 - Valuation booked for 04/09

29/08 - Tracker showing as all documents that have been submitted are approved and no further ones required. Mortgage advisor also saying Natwest happy with everything subject to Valuation.

I'm so nervous now waiting for the valuation to take place. Does my timeline so far sound good and like it will go ahead subject to Valuation?

Also a bit of background. When I first got my AIP through I had about £3,000 outstanding debt and I now have £600 which will be cleared Friday meaning I'm debt free - Surely this improves things? And if I had my AIP with the debt it means everything will be okay subject to Valuation?

Sorry for rambling! Just very nervous.

Making our low mortgage work for us?

We bought a home for $126,000 when the market bottomed out in 2010 and pay about $800/month mortgage. The house is now worth about $350,000 in this sellers market. We want to get rid of our mortgage insurance (FHA loan) and see if there's any way we could cash in on the substantially low mortgage to either pay off/consolidate other loans (travel trailer, etc) and/or improve the house (add a shop or garage, build better livestock shelters, etc). Is such a thing possible and how do we go about it?

How can I afford full upper and lower dental implants if I'm on a fixed income?

My wife has had failing teeth for years. She has a full upper denture and no top teeth left. The 5 bottom teeth and attached denture is in really bad shape. I told her to get all her teeth pulled and get a bottom denture. The problem is the bottom denture wouldn't be very stable and she'd be very self conscious.

We live on Social Security. We have no savings. We have no debt, but our mortgage takes most of our income. There isn't any money left to finance a $30,000 or $40,000 set up upper and lower implants.

Are there any programs that could help us pay for implants. We're looking for a permanent solution. My wife had a condition that took most of her teeth in her 30's. It wasn't because she didn't try to take care of them. Now she is paying the price. I would love to get her her own set of teeth… But its so cost prohibitive.

What will happen to our house when my grandmother dies?

My mother Pays half taxes on the property and is a cosigner to pay off the mortgage and has power of attorney over my grandmother. My grandma is the owner and pays half the taxes as well. Neither of them have a will. My grandmother doesn't want to make one but my mom does.

My 2 younger brothers (18 & 19), My mom and my grandmother are all disabled and live inside the home.

I want to know, if my grandmother dies, will the house automatically go to my mom and her kids to live in if my mom continues to pay? Or can my grandmother's other children come to claim a right to the property?
