Santa ana california lower mortgage rate scam?

Hello is this a scam? An elderly woman recently got an official looking letter in the mail from santa ana, california saying she may qualify for a lower rate. I don't have too much info and she isn't a computer person, however… She called the number they asked some questions and told her she qualifies but told her not to pay her mortgage for 2 months… She had to pay them about $3000. The name of the woman she spoke to was Nissa Rodriguez. Apparently she never heard from them again or can get anyone on the phone when she calls, and damaged her credit. I just wondered if anyone has a website about this scam that I can print out and give to her to read?

Can refinancing be done without an appraisal?

Is there any kind of program that a person can obtain if they want to refinance their home but do not want to go through another appraisal? My mortgage is not owned by FreddieMac so I cannot obtain anything under the Harp2 program.

My home has already been appraised a number of times from previous refinancing with other financial companies and I do not feel another appraisal is necessary.

How to remove a derogatory item off credit report?

Seven years ago my partner and I purchased a house and both our names went on the mortgage.
We separated a year ago and sold the house.
I have now been refused a loan due to the fact my then partner unbeknown to me at the time had missed 3 payments on our joint mortgage. I had only found out when we received a letter from the bank. We quickly made these payments and we are not in debt but this incident has had an effect on my credit score. This is the only thing, as I have never owed money or missed any payments beforeMy credit was good and I held and still hold these two credit cards.
How can this item be removed. There was no collection agency involved, or forclosure
But now I will not be able to have this loan or a mortgage
Added (1). Missed! Payments were cleared on receipt of letter from bank and NOT after house was sold. This non payment was not delinquent for such a time as to involve a collection agency neither was there foreclosure.

Should i leave my government job and become a loan officer?

Basically, long story short i am a supervisor for USPS and make around $90 right now with benefits, etc. I was recently offered a "full ride" to be a loan officer with a mortgage company. They will pay the $60,000 class fees, and pay me while i go to school, and they promise making at least $100k a year and boast there are loan officers with their firm raking in $500 a year. I am a money person so all of this excites me, but i don't wanna leave my job with the possibility of not making a lot of money. So are there any loan officers out there that can speak on this?

im gonna be leaving my parents home and without my help they cant afford the mortgage on the house. Is there a program where they can get help? Reduced mortgage payments?

Is there any loans for first time home buyer we can use for land and modular homes together in one mortgage?

I would like to have buy land and a modular home but want to see if I can get it rolled into one mortgage. I live in california and trying to move to redding ca if that helps. Iv found land that has all utilities on it and will fit in our budget.

Please let me know what I can do to get these. I have a bit of money down. Just need to know if any loans exist or do I need to pay for them separately? Two different loans?

How Does A Young Man Afford A House These Days?

Down payment + high mortgage payments + property taxes + homeowners insurance + various electric/gas/water expenses + all the other expenses that you need to live such as cell phone bill + internet + cable, etc. How am I supposed to afford all this, and to top it off, my fiance expects me to pay for nearly all of it because she makes considerably less money than me. She is an elementary school teacher, I am an engineer. I feel like I make good money, yet I feel like a ton of my income is going towards this venture. I have no clue how other people my age(mid-late 20's) are able to afford a house considering most people in my age bracket aren't engineers that make good money.
